Mission and Vision

Our Mission

By providing a classical and Christian education, we seek to nurture the hearts and minds of our students in truth and righteousness so that they will glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

“Education is not a subject, and it does not deal in subjects. It is instead the transfer of a way of life.

— G.K. Chesterton

Our Vision

Lifelong Learners -

Our students will cultivate a love of learning and carry what they learn at VCA into the rest of their lives. We will give our students the tools to be inquisitive and engage with every aspect of God's created order.

Produce Free Men and Women -

Our students will pursue wisdom and in attaining wisdom they shall be men and women of discipline, self-control, and self-rulership. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and God has given us education to produce free men and women, for as our Lord said, “you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:32).

Equipped for all of life-

Through an education that is rigorous and challenging, broad and deep, our students will be equipped for all of life and ready to step into whatever God calls them to. From the reading of good books to the learning of foreign languages; from the school uniforms to the yearly traditions we do, all of it will be used to prepare our students for life beyond our school.

Set their hope in God-

Our school will be a setting where we see Scripture fulfilled before our eyes. Psalm 78 says that we will "tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might…so that [our children will] set their hope in God and not forget the works of God but keep His commandments" (v1-7).

Play their part in the Creation Mandate-

As our students grow, we will remind them that God has a calling for each of their lives. We will teach them to be bold enough to determine what that is and see how it contributes to the Creation Mandate of filling the earth with the knowledge and glory of God.

VCA in the future-

In the coming years, our school will come to be known for rigor in our academics, virtue in our students, love for the truth, professionalism among the staff, and a dedicated community that is built around the school. We envision a thriving and supportive community where students, parents, teachers, and staff see the fruit of their labors as our students grow and live for the Lord.

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”

-Ephesians 6:4

OUr Distinctives

How is VCA different from other schools in our region? What will students and parents get from our school compared to another school? What makes us distinct and standout from the rest?

Here are a few things that VCA brings to the table:

Not a Dime of Government Funding-

Education is an extension of the family, not the government. By taking no government funds we are free to educate and organize how we see fit in order to fulfill the mission God has given us.

Whole Person Education-

Education is not simply transferring data to pass tests. Our approach to education will involve the mind, soul, body, and heart. In the classroom, teachers focus more on growing the person rather than finishing the lesson.

Dedicated, Intentional Christian Formation-

We are not just a Christian school that provides education; rather we are a Christian school that provides a Christian education. We exist to produce disciples, not just good students. Using our doctrine and our culture, our instruction and our practices, we aim for Christian formation.
